Thermos on Sale & A Sticky Situation

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the thermos is so delightful,
And since we've got leftovers,
Let's REUSE! Let's REUSE! Let's REUSE!

2 Girls With Thermos

It's winter. You send your children off to school wearing hats, scarves and jackets to keep them warm. What about their lunch boxes? Fill your child's school lunch boxes with warm winter treats to help warm their stomachs as well.

SOUPS & STEWS are always a great option for winter comfort food. Save some of your leftover soup and stews from dinner to put in your child's thermos for them to enjoy at school. Leftover dinner rolls can make great dippers for soup and help to fill your child up. Jazz up tomato soup with; baked fish crackers, shredded cheese, pepperoni slices, and even croutons! Turn ordinary tomato soup into extraordinary TOMATO SOUP! Pack these items in a stainless steel container so that your child can add them into the soup themselves.

MAC & CHEESE has long been a favorite of many kids. Pack macaroni and cheese in your Kids Konserve thermos and you will make their day! Make macaroni and cheese more of a well-balanced and nutritional meal by simply adding some of the following:

  • Peas
  • steamed broccoli
  • diced ham
Add these items separately or together into the macaroni and cheese. I came across this wonderful recipe at Coochicoos from the Silver Spoon for Children: Favorite Italian Recipes cookbook.

In our family a winter favorite is SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS. Leftover spaghetti and meatballs can make a tasty lunch for your child to take to school. Include a slice of French or Italian garlic bread wrapped in a Food Kozy™ as well. Older kids and adults can use the leftover meatballs and sauce to assemble their own meatball subs at lunchtime. Simply put the meatballs along with some sauce into a thermos, along with a stainless steel container of shredded cheese, and a hoagie roll.

But winter isn't just about enjoying delicious comfort foods. Winter is also the time of year for enjoying warm beverages as well. Your child may be delighted to find a thermos filled with HOT COCOA or warm APPLE CIDER to wash down their meals with.

Keep your children's bellies full and warm by packing some of these delicious wintertime lunch box treats. Remember when using a thermos, you should first place hot or boiling water into the thermos to warm it up before placing your food inside.

A Sticky Situation

Kids Konserve has recently been put in a “Sticky Situation”!  A batch of our most popular products was inadvertently manufactured using the wrong formula for the descriptive stickers we place on the outside of the containers.  We, as Moms and fellow consumers, agree it is no fun to purchase a product only to come home and find the label permanently affixed ... hard on the nails and no fun! We realize there is a batch of these out there and have heard from some of you about this issue.
We have addressed the problem and all new products have the same easy to remove labels we originally designed.  However, if any of you have experienced this, we would like to extend our appreciation for your sticker removing efforts and assure you it is far more important that you REUSE our products and do not put aside and discount Kids Konserve products going forward due to these faulty stickers.  Many thanks to you for your support and Happy New Year!”
